Fatal Path Issue

I am having an issue with Git and Visual Studio 2012.

When I have a file checked out and then on the Solution Explorer I do "Git (master) >>Compare With Last Commit" I get the following error.

Microsoft Visual Studio

fatal: Path 'xxx/xxx/Web/WEB.CONFIG' exists on disk, but not in 'HEAD'.

However if I go to windows explorer and TortiseGit >>Diff works fine.

Its quite annoying to step out of VS 2012 to compare file.

Please reply ASAP.

Thanking you in advance

I do have the same problem when I try to check my source from the "Pending Changes (master)" panel.
Not sure if it's an other extension that give me the option, but from the solution epxlorer it does work when I right clic on a file and click on "Git: diff"
But if I right click on a file, then "Git (master)" => "Compare with last commit" then I do have this error ...

Same problem here in VS 2013. The casing of the file name seems a bit odd - perhaps that is the problem?
